About me

Kathy
I am still really searching for my place in this big world. But I think that is what keeps life interesting. I am a quiet person, who mostly likes to just observe life as it happens. I have been blessed with many wonderful people in my life. These people have made me who I am today and without them I would be totally lost.

Bathroom Renovation 2008

Friday, September 12, 2008

We officially began the renovation of our master bathroom last weekend. Our master bathroom was a mess of too many doors, not enough shower space, and a huge tub we never use. I don't know what the builder was thinking when they organized this bathroom. Clearly, they weren't thinking. So, we made a plan to remodel. We've decided to take this job on ourselves. A BIG task I know, but I have the determination and organization to push us along. My goal is to get this done before the end of the year. Thankfully we have two other full baths in our house, so this isn't a big inconvenience just yet.

Last weekend, Josh and I managed to remove all drywall from our closet and the wall that it shares with the toilet room. We also removed the carpet in the closet. I had a blast! It was a thrill to tear off that drywall. I can't wait to lift up that ugly vinyl floor! The best surprise was finding the already framed door opening into the bedroom. The opening in the picture above was the door to the closet that was located inside the bathroom. We planned to move it to open into the bedroom and now we have one less framing project to do.

This weekend we move on to the hard part - removing the toilet, vanity, shower, and tub. Thank goodness we will have help this weekend. I don't think Josh and I could do it alone. I should be interesting to say the least. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.
